The framework illustrative masterplan shown above seeks to provide up to 46 dwellings of which 30% will be affordable (14 homes). The proposals also include play areas and areas of open space.
A mix of dwelling types are proposed including detached, semi detached and terraced housing as well as a small number of flats which will be designed to appear as houses.
The areas of open space have been proposed to the east of the site to maintain a rural character when approaching the village from the east. These include extensive planting, local equipped play areas and SUDs features
As part of the proposals we are seeking to try and bring a shop back into the village, either by paying to reopen one of the former shops in the village (bakery or post office), or should this not be viable/possible we would welcome your views on a new local shop being proposed as part of the development.
The masterplan responds to the following design principles which are based on the technical work undertaken on the site:
The masterplan also responds to the constraints and opportunities of the site and in particular seeks to provide a generous landscaped edge to the east of the site adjacent to the wider countryside.
With respect to the design of the properties, the built forms will reference the existing buildings in the local area, looking towards both domestic and agricultural buildings for inspiration. However, we would welcome your views on this.
